He found his greatest joy outdoors—tending to his yard, shaping the land with his beloved Kubota tractor, and bringing beauty to life through his natural gift for design and craftsmanship. Whether he was building, fixing, or creating, Larry poured intention and care into every project. He cherished simple pleasures, especially a good cup of coffee and a Casey’s donut, and he rarely passed up a classic western or crime show, or a chance to listen to his favorite bluegrass music. His gentle spirit extended to all living creatures; he had a soft spot for animals and often rescued strays or nursed the injured back to health. Larry’s life was one of quiet generosity, steady devotion, and genuine warmth, and he leaves behind a legacy as enduring as the landscapes he shaped.

He is survived by his wife: Charlene Forbes of Stonington; children: Adriann Gaither of Blue Mound and David Forbes of Harristown; grandchildren: Camille Gaither, Dawnyelle Forbes, and Amy Larkin; sister-in-law: Cynthia McChristy of Stonington; and his beloved faithful companion: Rosie.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.

He spent his career working for several radio stations, among them WSHY in Shelbyville, WMCI in Mattoon, and the Cromwell Radio Group. Through this ministry, he encouraged and guided many individuals as they began their journeys toward healing and renewal.

His love for Southern Gospel music, particularly Jason Crabb, as well as classic TV shows like Andy Griffith, GunSmoke and M*A*S*H, will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Beyond his many professional endeavors, Todd was cherished for his generous heart and his constant willingness to lend a hand. His wonderful sense of humor could brighten any room, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone around him. More than anything Todd treasured time with his family. He was often found relaxing under the carport, sharing stories and simply enjoying the company of his friends and family. He also loved dining out and spending time with friends, making every outing an opportunity for connection and joy.

He will be missed dearly by all who had the great pleasure of knowing him.

A proud member of VFW Post 4495 Patriot Riders and an avid motorcycle enthusiast, he was most at home on the open road or in the garage wrenching on his bike. He was a loving father, a devoted brother, uncle, and son, and an absolutely amazing friend whose presence made every gathering brighter. Known for his easygoing spirit and his favorite saying, “It is what it is,” he met life’s twists and turns with strength and grit. Whether he was going out with friends or spending time with his son, he lived fully, generously, and with a heart as big as his Harley.
